Please Provide Feedback to ACOTE for a Complementary and Integrative Health Standard
Occupational Therapists,
Please provide feedback asking for Complementary Health Approaches and Integrative Health to be included in the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) standards by November 3, 2017. The standards for OT education are reviewed every 7 years, and we don’t want to wait that long for this to get adopted!
Please take a moment to complete this form adding in the terms “Complementary Health Approaches” and “Integrative Health” in the comment section if you want to see OT with Complementary Health Approaches and Integrative Health (CHAIH) as a required standard and taught in all OT schools in the United States.
The OT profession would be wise to include a standard on Complementary Health Approaches and Integrative Health (CHAIH) for their OT students to have entry level competency in these approaches as the landscape of health care continues to grow and transform. It would help the OT profession maintain relevancy as more health care practitioners are being educated in these approaches and consumers are seeking out these services. Many of these approaches can improve occupational outcomes, and enhance health, wellness, and prevention.
