Mindfulness Meditation & Guided Imagery are forms of healing that can positively affect the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of a person. Imagery is a powerful tool that can assist healing, because it accesses the subconscious mind that thinks in images and symbols, and the body where tension, emotions, energy, and beliefs can be held. These images provide clues to help a person receive insight about what will help them heal and have deeper meaning and understanding about what causes them physical or emotional pain. Thus, they can have a better relationship with what causes them pain and suffering so they can transform it, resolve it, or learn to manage it more easily.
Research shows that Meditation & Guided Imagery can give a person a greater sense of control, increase self confidence, assist with fear, panic, anxiety, helplessness, uncertainty, trauma, loss, and grief, increase relaxation, decrease depression, decrease stress, decrease pain, decrease nausea, decrease blood pressure, prepare for medical procedures, decrease respiratory difficulties, decrease medication side effects, improve immune system, improve healing and recovery time, decrease hospital length of stay, enhance sleep, strengthen connection to spirituality, meaning, and purpose in life, improve functional outcomes, and improve quality of life.
It is now a well accepted that our emotions can affect our physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being. Always feeling or never feeling our emotions can negatively impact health and well-being.

“I loved the course. Interactive Mindfulness Meditation: Emotion & Healing was an amazing journey to learning both meditation and how to guide meditation on a therapeutic level. I feel I could use these techniques on clients immediately following the course and continue to refine my skills.” Kelly Weltz, OT
“Besides experiencing it first hand by being guided by Emmy and classmates in this course and having it assist me with my own emotions and self healing; I also got to experience the healing of others through guiding them and observing others guide each other in the class. This was by far my favorite class in the Holistic Healing Certificate Program! I highly recommend taking this course.” Heather Falanga, OTR/L
“The powerful combination of the Emotional Clearing book by John Ruskan and Emmy’s Interactive Mindfulness class and has made a profound impact on my personal journey of healing. I gained access to my unresolved, suppressed unconsciousness in a safe compassionate manner that promoted healing. While experiencing my own healing, I learned to guide others in similar experiences. I look forward to using these techniques professionally in both the SNF and transitioning to private practice. I highly recommend this class to any practitioner seeking to assist others in healing.” Ryan Porritt MSOT, OTR/L
“This course goes much deeper with the practice of Mindfulness to a level that is more transformational for emotional clearing and healing than any other information I have learned before. Thank you Emmy!” Jill Lingle, OT/L
“This Interactive Mindfulness Mediation course provided me with valuable techniques to use both as an occupational therapist and on my own healing journey. Emmy did a wonderful job teaching how this strategy can bring physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. The course included observation and well as a great deal of practice, all of which were helpful in my learnings. This course also assisted me personally with accessing and truly feeling my emotions in order to release them from my mind, body, and spirit. I would certainly recommend this class, Emmy, and learning about these techniques!” Ellen Schaefer M.S. OTR/L, RYT 200
“I really enjoyed this class. It helped me to become much more confident in my ability to provide this holistic approach in my OT practice. I now feel much more confident that I can become a really valuable asset to the care of a client (or myself). I loved it being taught from the lens of an OT. It really helped me to see the value that I can bring to the table as an occupational therapist and how it seamlessly fits into our scope of practice. Emmy has a unique gift of bringing the words to this practice that really solidify and validate it as a viable treatment modality that could really help so many people. She is also very patient and kind as she interacts with her students. The course materials are thorough, organized and she includes lots of references and further reading if you are so inclined to explore more on your own. If you are feeling led to take this class, I would highly encourage you to take it.” Tanya Gauthier, LOTR
“I believe interactive mindfulness mediation is the ultimate healing as it gets to the root of any physical or emotional problem. Mindfulness practice in daily life is truly the medicine needed to prevent, reduce and possibly eliminate current or future physical and mental suffering and pain. Emmy’s class took my awareness of mindfulness from a cognitive and superficial understanding of mindfulness that I learned from books to a deep, subconscious tool that can be used for healing myself and others. I feel the techniques taught in this class may be the most powerful for healing.” Madalyn Radler, OTR/L
