Karla Alejandra ArredondoOccupational Therapist and Certified Health Coach
Karla Arredondo is an OTR practicing in pediatrics since 2016, after graduating from an OT program in 2015. With a background in Psychology from the University of Houston, Karla has always naturally been inclined to take a mind-body approach to treatment. Through her own personal practices and experiences, she has learned and been inspired to apply holistic practices in her field of work. Some of these practices include yoga, meditation, EFT, guided imagery, journaling, and aromatherapy.
Passionate about living optimally, Karla strives to take an upstream approach to health, addressing the cause of illness through healthy habits, nutrition, and mindfulness practices, as opposed to merely covering up the symptoms or treating preventable conditions. Currently, Karla is in the process of opening her own private practice in Women’s Health. An emerging field in OT, Karla will integrate holistic approaches to support, enhance, and/or aid in the recovery of health working with women in the prenatal and postnatal stages addressing issues such as pelvic floor, stress/anxiety, sexuality, pain, mindful movement, and others. Karla will also offer support to the whole family in order to guide and gently help transition into new roles and responsibilities that come with parenthood. As a certified health coach, health coaching for optimal health for mom and baby, to address fertility issues, and to support healthy lifestyle habits will be part of her work.
Karla practices yoga, meditation, boxing, and intense varied functional exercise. She loves to travel and learn from and appreciate all cultures. Karla is from Mexico and moved to the United States as a child. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, and practices French for love of the language. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, watching her baby discover the world, breathing in the outdoors, reading, and inspiring others to take charge of their health, awaken to consciousness, and find joy in the now.
